Parental Guidence

I called my dad for some life advice the other day. We ended up talking a lot about small business ownership and the amount of time and work that requires. My Dad is a very smart guy, but he has an annoying habit of over using analogies, often to explain very basic concepts that my adult brain already understands. That is why I was blown away by the totally bizarre advice that " if you're going to eat shit no matter what, at least eat shit in a place that has plumbing."

So I finally went to a general doctor (not my lady doctor) for the first time in three years. Survey: how many of you out there lie to the doctor? Like do you actually tell her how much you drink when he/she asks? Doesn't everybody inflate the amount of exercise they get? Am I the only person who allows herself to be lectured on her diary intake when asked about my digestion?

Speaking of which, my stomach hurts, but I know that's NACHO problem.

Reconnecting

Last night I spoke to an old friend on the phone that I has not talked to in almost THREE years. We had a falling out in '07, and I have been having dreams about her ever since. Last night we sent each other messages at the EXACT same time, which was eerie, and talked on the phone for several hours.

The universe works in strange ways I guess. Speaking of wonders of the universe, has anybody stopped and looked at vegetables lately?
